Start/Trial/Cross: All 3 LEDs flashing after power ON

WARNING!
  • If You don’t have suffcient mechanical knowledge, experience and proper tools, we strongly recommend, that You have these operations done by Your selling dealer or at Your local motorcycle service center! Making mistake during the disassembly or assembly of the electric system will void the warranty and may cause a hazardous situation, resulting in fire, severe injury or death and damage to property.
  • For safety reasons it is strongly recommended to leave the battery discharged before handling any component of the motorcycle's electrical system!
  • Do not let the battery to stay fully discharged for longer than neccessary, as it may have a negative impact on its capacity. Charge the battery after each ride.

Table of contents:
  1. Faulty charge port (jack type, MY2023 and older)
  2. Faulty Torque & Speed control button
  3. Motorcycle stops due to overheating
  4. Accelerator was not in its neutral position during power ON

1. Faulty charge port (jack type, MY2023 and older)

Follow these steps to check the charge port function:

Required tools:
  • hex wrench #6
  • Torx wrench #T25
  • multimeter
  1. Make sure, that the magnetic kill switch is in OFF position (magnet NOT attached) and the battery state of charge is very low.
  2. Place the motorcycle on a solid and level surface of a mounting stand, so that both wheels are on the ground.
  3. (Only for Cross): Using the hex wrench #6 loosen and remove the underseat bolt, located on the underside of the upper plastic bodywork (above the rear wheel), slide the seat forward and remove it from the motorcycle.
  4. Using the Torx wrench #T25 loosen and remove the upper 4 bolts from the upper plastic bodywork (2 on the left side + 2 on the right side).

  5. Remove the upper plastic bodywork by gentle pull up.
  6. Using the Torx wrench #T25 loosen and remove the 4 additional bolts from the left and right plastic bodywork (2 on the left side + 2 on the right side) and with a light frame tilt on the mounting stand remove both plastic bodyworks.
  7. Disconnect the charger from the electrical outlet.
  8. Disconnect the charge port, clean it properly and use a multimeter with the circuit check function. The correct function is:
Without the charger, middle and right pin on the output connector = open circuit
With the charger, middle and right pin on the output connector = closed circuit

Follow these steps to reassemble the motorcycle:

  9. With a light frame tilt on the mounting stand reinstall the left plastic bodywork and using the Torx wrench #T25 install and tighten the 2 lower bolts (5 - 6 Nm).
  10. Repeat the same step with the right plastic bodywork.
  11. Reinstall the upper plastic bodywork, align its 2 left holes with the holes on the frame and on the left side bodywork, reinstall 2 bolts and using the Torx wrench #T25 tighten them (5 - 6 Nm).
  12. Repeat the same step on the right side.
  13. (Only for Cross): Install the seat by sliding it backward on the bolt, located close to the Torque & Speed control button, and align the hole in the seat and the upper plastic bodywork with its corresponding hole on the frame just above the rear wheel.
  14. (Only for Cross): Install the seat bolt and tighten it using the hex wrench #6 (18 - 20 Nm).
  15. Double check, that all bolts and nuts are properly tightened.

2. Faulty Torque & Speed control button

Follow these steps to check the Torque & Speed control button function

Required tools:
  • hex wrench #6
  • Torx wrench #T25
  • multimeter
  1. Make sure, that the magnetic kill switch is in OFF position (magnet NOT attached) and the battery state of charge is very low.
  2. Place the motorcycle on a solid and level surface of a mounting stand, so that both wheels are on the ground.
  3. (Only for Cross Hero): Using the hex wrench #6 loosen and remove the underseat bolt, located on the underside of the upper plastic bodywork (above the rear wheel), slide the seat forward and remove it from the motorcycle.

  7. Disconnect the Torque & Speed control button from the controller, clean it properly and use a multimeter with the circuit check function. The correct function is:
Button NOT pressed = open circuit
    Button pressed = closed circuit.

    WARNING!
The motorcycle can be used even without the Torque & Speed control button, but remember, that You can no longer change the Torque mode or limit the top speed, which can be dangerous for some riders!

Follow these steps to reassemble the motorcycle:

  8. When finished, reconnect the Torque & Speed control button.

Issue 3: Motorcycle stops due to overheating

Follow these steps to understand the reason of overheating:

When the ambient temperature is above the operating temperature range, or when the motor is overloaded for a long time, e.g. when operating with too heavy rider, during long climbs, during continuous operation at full throttle, or in the case of a muddy motorcycle or too high chain tension, the thermal fuse of the regulator closes. This fuse monitors the temperature of the controller and the currents flowing to the motor and can disconnect the motor for safety reasons. After approximately 15 to 30 minutes this protection is deactivated and it is possible to continue driving again.

Very cold weather is also hard on the motorcycle’s electrical system and may cause, that the battery charge won’t last as long as at temperatures around 20 °C. Furthermore a Lead-Acid battery is more influenced by low temperature than a Li-Ion battery.

For the best driving experience:
  • do not overload the motor
  • keep your motorcycle clean - dirt may cover cooling surfaces
  • ride within the operating temperature range of the motorcycle: 41 - 95 °F (5 - 35 °C) for Lead-Acid battery and 32 - 95 °F (0 - 35°C) for Li-Ion battery
CAUTION!
Do not ride your KUBERG Trial/Cross motorcycle outside of operating temperature range of the motorcycle. Riding the motorcycle, when the temperature is lower or higher, may permanently damage the motor, battery and other parts of the motorcycle.

4. Accelerator was not in its neutral position during power ON

Follow these steps to check the accelerator function:

  1. Check, whether the accelerator rotates freely and is not stuck in one position.
  2. Check, whether there's no water, mud or other debris on the accelerator.
